Privacy policy

Last updated: August 13, 2026

Thermal Cove ("we," "us," "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights available to you. It applies to thermalcove.com (the "Site") and to your interactions with us as a customer. This policy is written to comply with Canada's *Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act* (PIPEDA) and, where applicable, Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

1. Information We Collect

Information you give us directly: name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number, and payment details when you place an order, create an account, contact customer support, or sign up for marketing communications.

Information collected automatically: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring site, and interactions with the Site, collected through cookies and similar tracking technologies.

Information from service providers: our e-commerce platform provider, payment processor, and shipping/delivery partners may share order status, payment confirmation, or delivery information relevant to fulfilling your order.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the Site is not directed at children.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:
- process and fulfill your orders, including sharing necessary details with delivery and installation partners;
- communicate with you about your order, account, or support requests;
- send marketing communications, where you've provided consent, which you can withdraw at any time (see Section 6);
- improve the Site and understand how customers use it;
- detect and prevent fraud; and
- comply with legal and tax obligations, including record-keeping required under Canadian tax law.

  • 3. How We Share Your Information

We share personal information only as needed to operate our business:

Service providers, including our e-commerce platform, payment processors, delivery carriers, installation partners, and marketing/email platforms — each is contractually required to protect your information and use it only to provide services to us.

Manufacturer partners, where necessary to fulfill your order, coordinate delivery, or process a warranty claim on a product you've purchased.

Legal and safety purposes, if required to comply with a legal obligation, protect our rights, or respond to a valid request from a public authority.

Business transfers, if Thermal Cove is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy or a comparable one.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember your preferences, understand how the Site is used, and — where you've consented — deliver relevant advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings; note that disabling certain cookies may affect Site functionality, such as your ability to complete a purchase. Where required, we present a cookie consent option when you first visit the Site.

5. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, including the periods required by Canadian tax and consumer protection law for order and transaction records, after which it is securely deleted or anonymized.

6. Your Rights & Choices

Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- request correction of inaccurate information;
- withdraw consent to our use of your information for marketing purposes at any time; and
- ask questions or file a complaint about how we handle your information.

To unsubscribe from marketing emails, use the unsubscribe link included in every commercial message, which will remain functional for at least 60 days after it's sent, or contact us directly. To exercise any other right, or if you have questions about this policy, contact us using the details in Section 9.

If you're not satisfied with our response, you have the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information, including relying on PCI-compliant payment processing for financial information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time; the "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be reflected here, and we encourage you to review this policy periodically.
